Your kitchen is probably the most used room in your home; it’s also probably one of the most expensive to fit out. But the trouble with a lot of modern kitchens is they lack certain individuality.
Well here’s a great way to add some much needed personality to your kitchen. Why not add some beautifully crafted Spanish pottery. Available in some amazing bright and dazzling colours, a nice collection of tapas plate on the wall creates a wonderful focal point.
You could also treat yourself to a Sangria Pitcher, of course you don’t have to use it for Sangria, you can use it for anything, they make great water or milk jugs, but they too are available in those beautifully vibrant Spanish colours.
And if you’re a lover of Spanish or Mexican food there’s no better way to serve Tapas or Salsas than on Spanish Pottery, they were after all made for the job.
So go on brighten up your Kitchen with the vibrant colours of Spain with some stunning Spanish Pottery.

Cashmere is the fibre of choice for Kings, Queens and Presidents. This soft warm fibre is rolled out for many a state occasion. Why? Because it’s the best, no man made fibre can match its softness and warmth. It’s quite simply the ultimate in luxury.
So why not bring this exotic and wonderful fibre into your home. As the winter nights draw in what could be finer than snuggling up under a sumptuously soft cashmere throw.
When choosing a throw the quality of the cashmere is all important, in some cheaper throws the cashmere fibre is mixed with wool giving it a much coarser feel, and even some 100% cashmere fibre throws use the cheaper short cashmere fibre which is much more fuzzy and prone to pill than the more expensive long fibre.
A cashmere throw is as much an investment as anything else and properly cared for it should last for years never showing signs of pilling.
For best results I recommend placing them over the end of your bed to keep your feet warm on those cold winter nights, or throw them casually over your sofa to snuggle into with a nice cup of cocoa.
So don’t wait until the cold weather starts, get one now while you can.

The Orchid has long been a favourite of flower lovers everywhere, its unusual and beautiful flower symbolises love, friendship, beauty and luxury. But the trouble is like with many rare and beautiful flowers, they soon shrivel up and die.
But there is a way to solve this problem, silk orchids. They’re a great way to get all the beauty without any of the pain. Today’s silk orchids are virtually indistinguishable from the real thing right down to the intricate stamen so no one will be able to tell.
Place them in a vase and position them on a table to add a beautiful accent to any room. And you’ll never have to worry about them dropping petals and dying on you.
With a little bit of care a good quality silk orchid can last for years. Just remember to keep them out of direct sunlight as it will quickly bleach the colour from the delicate petals, they’ll also need dusting periodically to keep them looking fresh.
A great tip for cleaning is to place some sugar in a bag then place the silk bouquet inside the bag, gently roll around then shake a little, the sugar granules will act as an abrasive removing the dust from the gentle petals, restoring them to perfection again.
So stop wasting money on the real thing and buy a beautiful bouquet of silk orchids that will grace your home for many years to come.

When it comes to entertaining in your home, the serving of fine oak malt beverages, in particular the fabulous Macallan Whisky, is a sign of Upside Living if ever there was a sign. (Of course, fine malt beverages should be savored, and consumed in moderation.)
The Macallan is a well known single malt Scotch whisky, which is produced at Macallan Distillery near Easter Elchies House, at Craigellachie in the Speyside region of Scotland. The Easter Elchies House is a Jacobean manor house, over 300 years old, and on the grounds are grown the barley that are a vital ingredient of The Macallan Fine Oak Malt Whisky.
Until 2004, The Macallan was only matured in oak sherry casks brought to the distillery from Jerez, Spain. However, starting in 2004, The Macallan introduced a new main product, the Fine Oak series. With this product, the whisky is mellowed in bourbon oak casks as well as casks of oak sherry.
The type of cask used to age the whisky imparts to each “expression” a certain unmistakeable flavor. American oak casks seasoned withe either bourbon or sherry “impart a subtle, delicate color with hints of apple, floral, vanilla, and sweet citrus aromas and flavors.”
The Macallan is offered in whisky that has been aged for 10, 12 or 14 years (being moved from cask to cask to instill those various aromas and flavors.)
To be called a single malt whisk, a bottle may only contain whisky distilled from malted barley produced at a single distillery. Scotland, as well as Ireland and Japan, make the most famous single malt whiskeys, and The Macallan is perhaps the most famous of them all.

Purchase your favorite Macallan blend at Whisky.com.

There’s nothing quite as pleasant as sitting on a deck, gazing out at a large and pleasant garden, accompanied by the friendly crackle of fire, well controlled and safe in a sturdy, thick copper fire pit.

Evenings are a particularly lovely time for friends to gather around a fire pit, as the golden flames are set off nicely in the gatherng darkness. Both charcoal or wood can be burned in the pits, each offering their own delightful aromas.
And because the copper fire pits have a firescreen (sold separately), they are perfectly safe.
Copper fire pits are ideal for gatherings of friends, and even better for romantic evenings for two. Just imagine the flicker of flames and the crackle and pop as you sip your drinks and nibble on appetizers. And on cool nights, they provide a welcome source of warmth, but not enough warmth that you won’t have an excuse to cuddle together with your significant other.
For a little extra ambience, consider adding a Tiki torch or two to the mix. Also made of copper, these torches reflect sunlight or moonlight, and add the perfect touch to your sybaritic getaway from the cares of the day.
Copper fire pits and tiki torches don’t just look good when they’re in use, of course. Copper, with its classic red-gold color looks good at any time… even if you don’t use these items for their intended purpose they make great conversation pieces and accent pieces just as they are.

People who had the time and the inclination have been collecting glassware of all kinds since the craft was first invented over 3,500 years ago. In the United States, the hobby took off in the early 1900s, and people collected, and continue to collect, hand painted glassware of the modern day or classic antique pieces. Fun, whimsical art on glassware has always been popular. (Well, whimsical art is popular regardless of on what medium it is bestowed! Poker-playing dogs, anyone?)

Practically every modern museum you visit has displays of glass, from the Chrysler Museum, the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Toledo Museum of Art. The Corning Museum of Glass, in Corning, NY, has the world’s largest collection of glass art, with more than 45,000 objects in its collection which runs the entire 3,500 gamut of glass history.
One of the most famous types of hand-painted glassware is that created in Murano, Italy. Glassmakers have worked there since almost the 9th century. Since it was a highly skilled craft, and one which was kept secret and jealously guarded by glass-making guilds, the glassmakers invariably prospered. By the 14th century, these glassmakers were prominent citizens. They were allowed to wear swords (a privelege not granted the common folk), had immunity from prosecution by the Venetian state. Their daughters were ecen able to marry into Venice’s most affluent families. Today, Murano’s rich tradition of glassmaking continues.
Hand painted glassware is easy to collect. Just choose the style of art you like, and collect away. Artists can paint anything on glassware, from abstract designs to realistic replicas of famous paintings. Whimsical art, from the painting of glorious fireworks to holes of golf to a birthday cake can brighten any home.

Whether you are celebrating the Fourth of July, honoring our heroes on Memorial Day, or simply in the mood to feel a gentle patriotic glow, 4th of July glassware makes an ideal decor, especially when it’s hand-painted collectible glassware, signed by the artist.
The United States has had quite a few flags in its 200+ year history. The current flag has been with us since 1957, when Hawaii and Alaska entered the union, bringing the number of stars on the field of blue up to 50.

The United States flag consists of thirteen equal horizontal stripes of red alternating with white. These thirteen stripes represent the original thirteen colonies who rebelled against England, fought in the American revolution, and created the United States of America. The blue rectangle, called a canton, consists of fifty stars, each one representing a state in the Union. In 4th of July glassware , it isn’t necessary for the flag to be rendered accurately – everyone around the world recognizes the brilliant and bold colors of a blue rectangle and red and white stripes.
When you hear the National Anthem however, and the phrase Star Spangled Banner, think not of our current flag, but one that actually possessed fifteen stars and fifteen stripes. This flag, now called “The Star-Spangled Banner Flag” or the “Great Garrison Flag” is the garrison flag that flew over Fort McHenry in Baltimore Harbor, during the War of 1812. Francis Scott Key was on board a ship in Baltimore harbor, during the British bombardment of that fort, saw the flag atill waving through the cannon smoke, and was inspired to write the poem “The Defence of Fort McHenry”, which would be named as our national anthem almost a hundred yers later, in 1916. (The poem has four stanzas, only the first is usually sung.)
The flag came about in this way. The commander of the Baltimore garrison expected that the British would attack the city. He ordered two flags to be made, as large as possible, so that the British would be able to see them easily, as a gesture of pride and defiance.
At this time, a new flag and a new star were added whenever a new state entered the Union. The two extra stars and stripes represented the entrance of Vermont and Kentucky. (Contrary to legend, the flag was not sewn by Betsy Ross, but rather by a local flagmaker, Mary Young Pickersgill. She was assisted by her daughter, two nieces, and an indentured servant.)
Our 4th of July glassware notonly features our flag, but also a few glorious fireworks, celebrating the creation of the land of the free and the home of the brave.
