If diamonds are a girl’s best friend then shoes must come a close second. And there’s no finer pair of shoes than Jimmy Choo’s.
His mix of eclectic design and classic shapes has defined a whole generation of shoe design. Shoes were so boring and staid before Jimmy Choo arrived.
Started from a tiny workshop in London’s East End in 1986 with money he saved from working in restaurants and as a cleaner, he started to turn out his beautifully crafted designs.
Just two years later his shoes were featured on a record eight pages in Vogue magazine. Patronage from Princess Diana soon followed and the rest as they say is history.
They of course don’t come cheap, great design never does, you’ll need to spend over a $1000 to get a pair, but get a pair you must. NO self respecting girl’s wardrobe is complete without a pair of Jimmy Choo’s
You can always rely on Gucci for a stunning fall collection, and 2009-2010 is no different.
Styled by Italian Frida Giannini she’s added some of her infamous edge for this season’s collection.
Last falls collection proved to be pretty revolutionary for Gucci so it was asking too much for this season to be as forward thinking. But it still has a certain amount of flair about it.
Gucci is all about classic lines and luxurious finishes, added to that this season we have leather, sequins and some absolutely gorgeous fabrics.
Famous as much for its ad campaigns as for its collections; this year’s campaign hardly disappoints, featuring the models Anja Rubik, Natasha Poly, the gorgeous Raquel Zimmermann, Myf Shepherd, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Jacquetta Wheeler, Dree Hemingway and Benoni Loos.
Remember the eighties; I bet you never thought you’d be seeing them again.
But surprise! They’re back; it was only a matter of time before the shoulder pad made a return.
And it’s not just shoulder pads that are making a comeback, hot pink is back too. So if you fancy reliving your youth this is the season you can get away with it.
Now don’t get too exited the pads aren’t as pronounced as they were, just a little more subtle. So you won’t be able to walk around like Alexis Carrington, not in public anyway.
No eighties outfit is complete without thigh length boots so naturally they’re hot this season too, but how to wear them, tight or loose?
Need to keep warm; those lovely long dark overcoats are still strong. Not in real fur obviously. They’ll need to be long because the dresses are short.
Why is it when it gets cold the dresses get shorter? There’s an adorable selection of short dresses available this fall, most of them with a trendy long sleeve.
So short dress, long sleeve, thigh length boots, all in hot pink. This fall is going to be anything but dull.
Copper is a beautiful, versatile metal. And of course one of its uses is for copper oil lamps for outdoor use.
These copper oil lamps, which burn oil using fiberglass wicks, come in Blue Verde, Smooth Copper, or Beaten Copper finishes.
People have been using copper for 10,000 years, and copper smelting seems to have developed independently in several places around the world. And, of course, it was the mixing of copper with zinc to make brass, and copper with tin to make bronze, which led to the “Bronze age.”
But let’s talk about copper oil lamps. Copper lamps — depending on their size — can burn from 8 hours to 12 hours, even up to 48 hours.
They make a perfect accent piece for porches and decks, therefore, when you’re entertaining and want a little style to light up the evening!
It’s all about mood lighting. Forget about those bush-league lava lamps! Copper oil lamps provide a taste of style and luxury that everyone can appreciate. The gleam of copper is beautiful on its own, but beaten copper, or Blue Verde copper lamps have their place as well in the elegant home.
Elegant your home may be…the dining room in particular. But there’s nothing quite like cocktails by moonlight on an open-air porch, with the strategic lights from Copper copper oil lamps enhancing the moonlight and the ambiance.
